White River Family Fishing

Ralph Chatelain was raised in Flippin Arkansas and has been a native of the area for as long as he can remember. It was his mom and dad that came here to retire with a plan of buying 2000 acres on the White River in 1966. Ralph's dad would later take the land and subdivide it calling it the White River Ranchetts now effectively known as Ranchetts. Giving one acre with a boat ramp to the Arkansas Game and Fish, a new road was paved with the help of the State to provide access to the area. With the road came a bridge to cross over Crooked Creek, providing access to the beautiful area by vehicle and making Ranchette a staple with the locals for fishing access.

Ralph was 14 years old when he moved here and fell in love with the area but he would say he fell deeper in love with slippery Rainbow Trout . He says, "Rainbow Trout are so beautiful, almost unbelievable in color, one of Gods beautiful creations." Ralph's dad bought him a small jon boat to take prospective lot buyers on the water and basically when the visitors caught trout, they bought lots! Little did he know he created a passion for fishing and was hooked from that age. For over forty years, Ralph has been guiding big groups up and down the White River and putting smiles on his clients faces. He has been guiding practically his whole life and knows what his customers are looking for in their trout fishing vacation. Ralph was taught by old timers like Otis and Paul Humpfree, Jarvis Roe, Bill Queen, Joe Laffedee and Otto Jefferson, men who knew how to fish and who provided the knowledge that Ralph now knows like the back of his hand. Ralph can make great days happen. He won't make excuses for no fish days because he doesn't have them!

Forming his company, White River Family Fishing, Ralphy (nick named Alphy) formed two offices for his operation. The first operation is based in Flippin Ar. on Hwy 412 By Pass at Road 7604 East and the second is in Bull Shoals Arkansas at 708 Central Boulevard/178 Hwy across from the only gas station in town.

White River Family Fishing offers a true experience to catch lots of trout and provides a service that will continue to bring people back to the ozarks for years to come, mostly would say just to have another chance to experience Ralph's shore lunch! His pricing includes tax and all tackle including bait and anything else a fishing trip would need except your license. He will clean and bag your catch. If price is ever an issue, they offer half day trips for one portion of your group in the morning and the other half in the afternoon for the price of one day to accomodate. He uses boats that are the largest and safest on the White River running 5 feet longer than most which offers the ability to fish 5-7 people comfortably. If you would like to do an overnight camp trip and stay in some cabins along the river, he can take care of that too making all of your arrangemets plus providing the food and additional guides if needed. Corporate groups are welcome and pretty much any size group can be arranged for. When you experience a guided day with Ralph it will be tough not to come back year after year!
