11/8/2025: Volunteers are needed to decorate Big Spring Park for Christmas in Cotter on Saturday, November 8th at 9 a.m.  Coffee, donuts and pizza will be provided to the volunteers. Please bring, if you have them: gloves, wire cutters, black electric tape, step ladder, hammer, & drill.

 11/11/2025: The Saturday Club of Cotter will honor all veterans and active service members and Mary Nell (Johnson) Crownover "Cookie," a beloved past Saturday Club member whose family's services spans eight generations in military and law enforcement. Mary Nell is mother to Annette Thrasher and Aunt to Donna Powell--current club members. Her relatives served in War of 1812, Civil War, Spanish-American War, WWI and WWII, Korean War, and modern-day military. This cake and coffee celebration will be Tuesday, November 11th, at 1:30pm at Cotter City Hall.

11/11/2025: Honoring Sam Mason at Walnut Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, November 11th at 12 Noon. Join the Saturday Club of Cotter in honoring Sam Mason's legacy and the community's dedication to remembrance. at Walnut Hill Cemetery (off 62W on West end of Walnut Hill Lane in the City of Cotter).

Born into slavery around 1855, Sam Mason and wife Alice became Cotter's only African-American residents in 1908. A skilled cobbler, he left a quiet legacy of craftsmanship and resilience. Though his grave was never formally marked, Roger Trimble has honored it for decades with stones, following his mother's instruction.

Now, as part of the Saturday Club's effort to preserve Walnut Hill Cemetery, 30 grave markers have been purchased--Sam's will be the first placed.

1-31 Dec 2025:  Christmas in Cotter is coming! The park will be decorated again this year. Santa's arrival is planned for December 13th!

12/13/2025: Save the date for the Christmas in Cotter celebration, Saturday, December 13th 5-7 pm.

5/2/2026:  The First Security Trout Festival will be the first Saturday in May so save the date!
