Fishing

When visiting Cotter, Gassville and the Twin Lakes Region, one won't be disappointed in the water options available to catch so many different kinds of species of fish all in one geographic area.  If walleye, large mouth bass, crappie, catfish and gigantic stripers excite you, then explore either Norfork Lake or Bull Shoals Lake, both only 20 minutes away.   If you seek some of the country's most fantastic and off the beaten path small mouth fishing destinations, two great rivers/creeks await you in Crooked Creek and the Buffalo River, Americas 1st National Scenic River.  Both of these spectacular settings are also only 20 minutes away.

Then of course there are two of the lower 48's most hallowed trout fishing rivers in the country right here in our own backyard.  Both rivers, the White River and Norfork River, have produced out of their depths enormous rainbow and brown trout and Arkansas still holds the world record German brown trout caught out of Little Red River just below Greers Ferry Lake which is roughly two hours South from Gassville.  It really is hard to find an area with better fishing as a whole when it comes to quality and the quantity of fish available no matter which direction you turn once here.

With two great bass and walleye lakes and countless small mouth streams close by, Cotter and Gassville lands you straight in the middle of the fishing action. Whether you choose to spend your day hunting down big trout, enormous bass, very large stripers or great tasting walleye you wont have far to go if you call Cotter or Gassville home for good or if you're here just for a weekend vacation getaway.
