Parks and Relaxation

Maybe your preference is to sight see, bird watch, layout or just plain relax in the park near or in the rivers and springs. If so, Cotter and Gassville will not disappoint and you won't need to travel far once you reach one of these two base camps.

Big Spring Park

Big Spring Park in Cotter AR is just the place to take it all in.  Enjoy the Anglin-Tinnon Railway Workers outdoor memorial in the park as you learn more about the historic role the railway played in Cotters existence.   Enjoy a walk on the 2.2 mile trail along the river while you stroll by the historic Rainbow Arch Bridge and its sister, the railroad bridge that lies just upstream from the other.  There are countless places to enjoy a picnic either along Big Spring Creek or along the White River or if you need a break from the weather, feel free to use some of the covered pavilions that are strewn throughout the park.  The Cotter Baseball diamond is another focal point of the park and a great place to take your child to practice. Maybe you just want to get wet and cool off and if that's the case, take the kids swimming in the Big Spring pool or better yet, you get wet and let the kiddos play on the playground or use the basketball and sand volleyball courts to fill there time.  Big Spring Park is beautiful and hosts numerous annual events.  It is a place where you can just put a boat in the water if you wish or just simply relax and unwind as the day unwinds but we promise its worth seeing and visiting.
